Rifle Elk and Deer Hunts / Colorado and Utah

Approximately 35,000 acres of private ground surrounded by BLM is yours to explore while enjoying comfortable cabins, hot showers and 4x4 transportation. Combine that with some of the best trophy hunting in Colorado and you have a hunt with Bookcliff Outfitters.

Rifle elk and deer hunts run October through November. We take small groups of 8-10 hunters per hunt with 1 guide for every 2 hunters. One on one hunts can be arranged for an additional fee. Hunts run 5 hunting days with one day in and one day out for travel. You will hunt with skilled guides that are specially screened for their knowledge of the area and the trade. Year after year our guides choose to return to guide for us, and success runs high on most hunts.
All deer hunts in Colorado are on a draw.

The hunt can be as hard or as easy as you would like it to be. We use 4x4 trucks and walking but horses are available. We pick you up at the airport and deliver you back. We have a working cattle ranch we hunt on. The main house is where we eat and shower, the hunters stay in the bunkhouses which have bunkbeds with mattresses on them. There is a shower in the bunkhouse as well. Around 85% of tags are filled depending on the weather and the ability and desire of the hunter.

Utah Elk

The Utah elk is on a draw for the area we hunt. The area is very limited in number of tags given out especially to non-resident hunters. The hunt is during the rut and you can apply for bow, muzzleloader or any weapon. Should you be lucky enough to draw a tag the chance of taking an exceptional bull or buck is great. If you are interested in applying for a Utah tag, contact us to book a hunt and we will see that you get an application. Application deadline varies, but is generally in January.  In 2012 the application period is February 1 to March 1 online.

Utah Deer

Utah deer hunting in our area was closed for 5 years. The Colorado side has been on a draw for the same amount of time. Now Utah is giving a few tags for deer. This hunt will correspond with the Colorado hunts. If you are interested in going on a Utah deer hunt contact us and we will see about what your options are to get a tag..
